Selecting Replacement Shackle Straps for 30-Foot Toy Hauler Trailer
Question:
I have a 30 ft toy hauler and the hole on the shackle link has become a little elongated from use. I am looking to replace them but do not see any weight or load related info on the shackles. Is there weight limits to these things?

Shackle straps are the most wear-prone part of a trailer suspension since they both carry weight and receive constant friction from the motion of the suspension. Shackle straps do not carry specific weight capacities, unlike the leaf springs they suspend. To select replacements all you need to do is match their length.
Shackle straps are available in three lengths, 3-1/8-inch (single axle systems), 2-5/8-inch (tandem and triple axle trailers) and 2-1/4-inch, the most common length for tandem axle trailers. You can use the linked page to see all shackle straps that we offer, such as the 2-1/4-inch # TRSL225.
