Recommended Bike Rack for 2013 Honda CrossTour

Question:

Looking for a two bike trunk rack for this vehicle. Will be carrying two womens full size bikes. Prefer a permanent locked fixture if possible to reduce the install and uninstall time while reducing the risk of theft. If that option doesnt really exist and removal is recommended are the locking systems advertised needed at all. First time rack decision so I have no reference point for features needed or desired. Please provide all parts needed to install and go versus placing an order for another needed part due to intent 2 womens bikes thank you!

Based on what you listed as wanting for a bike rack solution for your 2013 Honda Crosstour a hitch and hitch mounted rack would be your best option. Trunk racks are great but if your plan is to leave the rack on for extended periods of time and have it secure with locks a hitch rack would be way better than a trunk rack.

For a hitch you would want the Curt class 1 Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11002.

The Swagman XTC2, part # S64670 is one of the most popular racks because it's so easy to use, and because the rack has an angled shank that would raise the bike rack up by three inches providing additional ground clearance. Because of that, this is the rack I'd recommend for you. The rack includes an anti-rattle hitch bolt, but a combination anti-rattle hitch lock/cable lock is available separately as part # S64031.
