Troubleshooting Trailer that Wont Show Connection on Vehicle Brake Controller
Question:
With my utility trailer hooked up the controller will not light up. It used to work. The controller still works on another trailer. When I used a battery the brakes applied. Why is the controller not working? Is it a bad magnet?

Chances are there is corrosion on the trailer connector brake output circuit that needs to get cleaned off. Take a look at both trailer connectors and clean them off with some fine grit sandpaper. That should fix the problem.
