How Does a Trailer Receive Maintenance Charge From 7-Way Connector
Question:
I would like to be able to charge the battery in my trailer from the 12V power source that comes from the 7 pin truck connector. I use a 110V battery charger/ maintainer when the trailer is in storage, but would like the trucks alternator to charge the battery while on the road. What options do I have for this? Thanks,

Basically all you would need to do is run 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 from the 12 volt pin of your 7-way to the positive side of your trailer battery and it will receive a maintenance charge while it is connected to your tow vehicle.
