Tow Bar Wiring Needed For 2000 Toyota RAV4

does the headlights control work with this?/ when i turn on my rv headlights the rav 4 running lights or nighttime brake lights will be on right?

The Hopkins Plug-N-Tow Wiring Harness # 43455 provides a 4-way flat trailer connector at the rear of the RAV4 for towing a trailer with the RAV4. This wiring harness is not designed to work when towing it behind a motor home.

Since we do not have a custom flat tow wiring kit for the 2000 RAV4, the easiest way to provide lighting on your RAV4 when towing it behind your RV is to use a removable lighting kit. I recommend the Heavy-Duty Magnetic Tow Lights # TL21RK. These magnetic lights will sit at the back of your RAV4, and a connector will run to the front of the tow vehicle and connect with the RV's trailer connector.

If you would like to install a universal wiring harness on your RAV4, you will want to use the Roadmaster 6-Diode University Wiring Kit # 154-792-118158. This wiring kit is designed for vehicles like your RAV4 that have separate turn and brake light signals. It will splice into your vehicle's existing factory wiring harness. You will want to use a circuit tester, like # PTW2993, to find the turn, brake, and taillight wires on each side of your vehicle.
