Ball Mount Adapter Fit For Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank
Question:
Ill try to be brief. I have an Equal-i-zer 90-00-0060 and because of buying a new truck had to buy locally because of schedule and at a high price a new shank with more . I have the original shank and would like to use it as part of an adjustable hitch for my other trailer. This is a flat bed tandem trailer with a max wt rating of 7000lbs and uses a 2inch ball. The shank is 2inch square with 3/4inch holes spaced 1 1/4. Is this part #DTBM180 suitable for this application. Thanks

I have a solution for you, but the Replacement Platform and Hitch Balls for Fastway Adjustable Ball Mounts # DTBM180 that you referenced will not work on your Equal-i-zer weight distribution shank. That replacement platform is designed to fit Fastway adjustable ball mounts like the # DTALBM6800.
I recommend the Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount Adapter # BA-1. This ball mount is designed to fit weight-distribution shanks with 3/4 inch diameter holes that are spaced 1-1/4 inches apart. My co-worker previously test fit # BA-1 on an Equal-i-zer shank, like # EQ90-02-4300, and found that the two fit together without any issue. To attach # BA-1 to your WD shank, I recommend using the Convert-A-Ball 3/4 Inch Pins With Clips # CABPN-2.
The ball mount has a weight capacity of 10,000 pounds and a tongue weight rating of 2,000 pounds. Keep in mind that it is important to never exceed the weight capacity of the lowest rated item is your system.
I have attached a photo showing the Convert-A-Ball # BA-1 on an Equal-i-zer shank for you.
