Trailer Wiring Connector For 2006 Ford Van with Factory 7-Way
Question:
Ford 2006 6.0 Liter Diesel E350 Van I am wanting to purchase from you a trailer hitch, brake controller and rear 7 way plug for the purpose of towing a travel trailer. I have the hitch and brake controller picked out but I need help with the rear plug. It seems that Ford ran the wires to the driver side rear and it ends with a plug that is capped about a foot from the rear bumper attached to the frame. Is there a plug and play solution to install a 7 way plug for trailer towing? Thanks!

If you have the factory 7-way wiring plug at the rear of the vehicle, you can use a trailer connector like the Replacement Multi-Tow 7-way and 4-pole Trailer Connector # 74682. This trailer connector is confirmed to fit the 2006 Ford Van with factory 7-way. This trailer connector will attach to the factory plug that you referenced.
I have attached an installation video of this connector on a 2000 Ford F-250 for you. The installation on your 2006 Ford E-350 will likely not be exactly the same, but this will give you an idea of what installation may be like.
