Troubleshooting No Power to Any Trailer Wiring Circuits of 4-Way on 2012 Volkswagen Golf

Question:

I installed Upgraded Protected Mod Kit [119250+118151+48705+5564 on a 2012 VW Golf TDI following the instructions provided to Cameron in this QandA section: Red - Brake/Tail lights Yellow - Left turn signal Green - Right turn signal Brown + White - Ground Black - under carriage to positive terminal of battery through inline fuse I dont have a multi-meter now to check more thoroughly, but when I use the test light on the four pin connector, I get no light when I connect ground to any of the other three pins with the lights and a blinker on. My suspicion is that the converter box is not even powered up. Is there any way to test this? Thank you.

The black wire should have power from the vehicle battery run to it. You might double check that their is a good fuse in the fuse holder. That seems like the easiest solution to your problem assuming all of your connections were made properly.

If you are still having problems you will want to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test all of the wires going into the box for voltage when the appropriate circuit is activated and then test the output side of the box for the same thing.
