Recommended 5th Wheel Adapter for B&W Gooseneck Hitch

Question:

We are thinking of purchasing a 2014 Bay Hill 5th wheel. Empty weight is 12,234 and GVWR is just over 15,000. We have a 2008 Ford F450 with an 8 foot bed and a tool box with a 50 gallon tank in the bed. We also pull a horse trailer, so there is a B and W ball hitch in the bed, thinking I might need a hitch for the 5th wheel that can be removed. What are your thoughts on this kind of set up? Thanks....

Since you already have a B & W gooseneck hitch installed on your 2008 Ford F-450, I think a 5th wheel adapter will work well for you. I recommend the B & W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3500-5W.

This 5th Wheel adapter will fit into the existing B & W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch on your truck, and is able to be taken out when you are done towing your 5th wheel. Using a 5th wheel adapter like the Companion is the safest, and smoothest, way to tow a 5th wheel camper with a gooseneck hitch. The Companion has a 20,000 pound weight capacity and features dual jaws to provide 360-degree jaw-to-king-pin contact. I have attached a review video of this 5th wheel hitch for you.
