How To Stop Muffler Contacting Trailer Hitch On 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan

Hi, I purchased a Curt trailer hitch for a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. It works well. When driving down a gravel road, the bumps cause the muffler to bang against the hitch. Do you have a recommendation to that may help eliminate this? Thanks.

The muffler coming into contact with a trailer hitch is a fairly common problem, and we have a help article I have attached for you that addresses this issue.

Usually, slightly bending a muffler hanger will provide enough space between the muffler and the hitch to prevent the rattle, or banging. Sometimes, a different size rubber muffler isolator can be bought from an auto parts store that will move the muffler further away.

If you're uncomfortable manipulating the exhaust, a muffler shop could do this quickly and fairly inexpensively.
