Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2009 Toyota Sienna
Question:
Why do some lighting kits call for power and fuse from the battery and this one does not?
asked by: Wayne.
Expert Reply:
Neither of the trailer wiring harnesses for the 2009 Toyota Sienna require a direct connection to the vehicle battery. Both Tow Ready harness # 118304 and Curt harness # C55580 plug in line with the vehicle tail light wiring and the only other connection that needs to be made is the ground wire.
Some vehicles require a powered converter if there isn't a plug and play type of T-connector available or if the wiring is suspected to not be able to handle the power draw without a powered converter.
Your Sienna does not require a powered converter so that is why you don't see any.
