How to Pick Out the Correct Rise/Drop Ball Mount to Tow Trailer Level
Question:
I have a 2014 Ford Edge factory installed trailer hitch I just purchased a 18 ft boat and I was wondering what riser I should buy I have a class 2 hitch rated for 3500 lbs tongue weight 350 lbs I notice there are a number of different Drops sizes Should I get the 1 1/2 or the 3 1/2 Thanks

You will want to go with a ball mount that has the amount of rise/drop that will allow your trailer to be towed as level as possible. To do this you will need to take a couple measurements. You will need to measure from the top of your hitch opening to the ground and from the bottom of the coupler on your trailer down to the ground when it is sitting level. The difference between those measurements is the rise/drop that you need.
