No power on the 4-Way Trailer Connector # 118412 on 2012 Toyota RAV4
Question:
I plugged a small utility trailer in the other day and the left stop/blinker light didnt work. I have used my connector maybe 5 times with no issues and its stored inside the vehicle when not in use. We tried different trailers with no luck. When the tech tested the plug, that connector had no functionality. We did check the wire prior to the connector to ensure it wasnt a problem with the connector. Is there something I could be missing?

What I recommend is to remove everything that came with the Tow Ready wiring harness, # 118412, and then start the installation again as if it was the first time. It could be that you missed something and that by going through the steps again will reveal the issue.
Included in the kit is a length of wire to run a power wire to the engine bay and connect to the positive battery post. It also makes access to the fuse for this power line easier since you can have it readily accessible in the engine bay. I have added a link to the instructions as well as a video with a complete install of this harness that shows how the power line can be run up to the front of the vehicle.
