Recommended Trailer Brake Controller for 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander 4WD GT with 4-Pole Connector
Question:
I have a 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander 4wd GT. It has the factory towing package. I am looking for a electronic brake controller for it. It has a 4 flat going out. I plan on putting electronic brakes on my trailer, and wondering what I would need going from my vehicle to the trailer? The trailer has no brakes on it now, but does have the 4 hole mounting bracket. Do I need to bypass the entire factory wiring, or would I be able to just use the 4 flat leaving the vehicle, and convert it to a 7 round? I cant find much info on the Outlander with the factory tow package, and what parts I would need. Thanks.

It is easy to convert your 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander's 4-pole flat trailer connector to a 7-way for use with a trailer brake controller like the excellent Prodigy P2 # 90885. All you'll need apart from the controller itself is our installation kit # ETBC7. This kit includes the 7-way plug-in adapter, wiring, connectors, etc. - everything you need to install the Prodigy, which is among the most reliable and popular controllers we offer. I have linked an article and video illustrating installation.
