Running Lights Not Working on Trailer and Adding 7-Way/Brake Controller to a 1992 Chevy G20 Van
Question:
My phone running lights are not working but I have turn. Brakes and tail lights wiring has two badly corroded wire and the harness has 7 wires my van is a 4 wire setup1992 Chevy a G20 help need trailer brakes want to change van to 7 wire setup help

The corroded wires will need to be replaced with new wire and that will help with the running light problem. But there could be corrosion elsewhere so you will need to inspect the trailer wiring from front to back and repair as needed. Also, make sure the trailer side connector is clean and free of corrosion inside where the wires attach and outside on the pins.
To switch the ban over to a 7-Way you will need # ETBC7. This will provide the 7-Way and retain a functional 4-Way. It also provides the wiring and accessories needed to install a brake controller. I have included some links that show and explain the ETBC7 installation.
For a brake controller I recommend the P2, # 90885, because its easy to set up and use and its reliable.
