Will Curt Trailer Wiring Harness, # C55355, Work with a 2001 Pontiac Montana with Air Compressor

Question:

I have a montana with loadleveling it came with a partial harness in the glove box. It plugs under the vehicle at the air compressor. the plug is different than the one you sell that is plugged behind the drivers side panel. montanas turn signal and brake light are on different wires. my old boat trailer is a basic 4 prong. can I just splice the brake light wire into the turnsignal without damaging the van.

According to Curt, on some vehicles with air compressors, the plugs will not be accessible through the storage compartment. You would need to pull back the interior trim panels to access the connectors. So the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector, # C55355, is the correct harness for your 2001 Pontiac Montana. I have included a link to the installation instructions below.

I do not recommend splicing the brake light wire into the turn signal wire as it would cause a short which could further damage the electrical system or cause the trailer lights to not function properly.
