Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2015 Toyota Sienna XLE
Question:
Hi there, I am looking for a hitch carrier with a ramp preferred, because we live in a downtown area where streets are narrow or a small trailer smaller the better for a power wheelchair with a footprint of 24x40, and weight 386lb. My Vehicle is a 2015 Sienna XLE FWD. Can you please recommend some options for me? I will be looking to purchase everything incl, the hitch, ball, wiring if needed plus the carrier or trailer. Regards,

I have attached a link to the trailer hitch receivers available for your 2015 Toyota Sienna XLE. Due to the fact that the maximum tongue weight capacity available for your vehicle is 350 lbs, you will need to transport the power wheelchair with a small trailer which is best obtained locally. Putting the wheelchair on a hitch mounted carrier would exceed the hitch's capacity and could cause damage to the hitch as well as your vehicle.
Although I do not have a trailer available, I can get you everything else needed to be set-up and ready to tow.
For a trailer hitch you can use the Curt, # C13105, which is our most popular option. I have included an installation video for you.
You'll also need a ball mount. I have included an article that covers the steps to choosing the correct one for your set-up. You might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, I have also included a link to additional ball mount options for you.
For trailer wiring, take a look at the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, # C56261.
