Do Any Factory Tow Package Fuses/Relays have to be Used to Install ETBC7 on a 2009 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
Hi, I have a follow up to the answer given to the question below Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector and Brake Controller to a 2009 Toyota Tacoma with 4-Way My truck does not have the TOWING TAIL Relay *18 installed in the fuse box. Do I require this Relay to effectively install part ETBC7? Thanks

Expert Reply:
No, the # ETBC7 bypasses the fuse/relay system on your 2009 Toyota Tacoma. A 4-Way will plug into the ETBC7 mating 4-Way and the remaining wires will get hardwired in without going through any factory fuses or relays. The brake controller and 12 volt circuit will use the included circuit breakers in the ETBC7 kit.
