How to Use a Thule Hull-a-Port Kayak Carrier on Thule Xsporter Crossbars

Question:

I have the Thule Hull-a-Port Pro 835Pro and also the Thule Xsporter Pro adjustable Rack on a 2015 Canyon. When I went to install the hull-a-port the crossbars, the bolts were too short, so I purchased the Adapter3 kit with the 80mm long bolts. These bolts are also too short. They stick out from bracket only 3/16inch not enough to put the nuts on. Any suggestions, this is what Thule recommends to use with the Xsporter.

I spoke to my contact at Thule and without seeing a picture of what your setup looks like she wasn't able to come up with a great solution for you. She did say that the other option you have is the # THXADAPT11 that would allow you to use the tracks of your Xsporter rack instead of going around the bars.

Is it possible that the square shoulders of the carriage bolts of the # THXADAPT3 aren't seating properly into the mounting bracket of your Hullaport and that is why you aren't getting the length you need?
