Trailer Hitch and Wiring Harness Needed for 2016 Santa Fe
Question:
Does the Santa Fe use a different hitch than the Sport? Also how long will it be before the wiring kit with the plug in ends be available. Not a fan of the universal kit. Thanks

The 2016 Santa Fe 4 cylinder is going to use the same trailer hitch receiver as the Sport model, # C13152 for a Class III 2 inch receiver and # C12113 for a Class II 1-1/4 inch receiver.
I personally recommend going with a 2 inch receiver because it will give you more options when it comes to hitch mounted accessories.
Since it sounds like you plan to do some towing, I have included an article that covers the steps to choosing the correct ball mount for your set-up. For the 2 inch hitch you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, I have also included a link to additional ball mount options for you.
As for wiring, Curt offers the T-Connector Custom Vehicle Wiring Harness, # C56332, which plugs directly into connection points behind the rear bumper on your Santa Fe if it has the factory tow package. If not use part # C56184 instead. It plugs in the rear cargo area. I have included installation instructions for you.
