Replacing a 4-Round Connector with a 4-Flat on a Bayonet Trailer Towed by a 1999 Lincoln Navigator
Question:
4 pin old trailer, to a 99 lincoln navigator have a new bayonet to fit the lincoln will this work ok.

If your trailer has a 4-Round that looks similar to # PK11402, you can clip off the plug and connect the wires to a 4-Flat that will fit the 4-Way on the 1999 Lincoln Navigator. You can use the Quick Fix(TM) 4 Pole Flat Trailer End, # HMC20031, or directly wire a trailer-side 4-pole connector like # 18004.
The shielded pin is the ground and is usually a white wire. The pin next to that is for the tail and running lights and is usually a brown wire. The next pin is for left turn and is usually a yellow wire. The last pin is for right turn and is usually a green wire.
