How Does a Trailer Battery Get Power from Trailer Wiring

Question:

I have a electric RV trailer jack and need a way to connect the 7 pin connector to a 12v battery. How can I do that? Thanks for your help.

To connect a 7-way to a 12 volt battery all you would need to do is run a length of 10 gauge wire like # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot), from the 12 volt accessory post of the 7-way (the 2:00 position), to the positive terminal of the battery.

If you have a trailer jack that uses a 7-way style of connector for attaching to the trailer you could easily cut the wire from that connector and run it straight to the battery.
