Gooseneck Trailer Hitch and 5th Wheel Adapter for a 2015 Ram 2500 Short Bed

Question:

I have a 2015 RAM 2500 Crew Cab 6.7 with air suspension and was looking at installing the Curt 60614 Underbed Gooseneck along with the Andersen AM3200 or 3220. I read in another post that it might be a better idea to use a gooseneck that has a square shank ball rather than the round shank like the Curt 60614? Is this the case and if so, what would be a better underbed gooseneck choice for me? I cannot use the BandW turnover ball because of the air suspension.

First, there are two different Anderson Ultimate 5th Wheel Connections. The one you are looking at, # AM3200, mounts to industry standard above the bed 5th wheel rails so it would not work in your 2015 Ram 2500. The model that attaches to a gooseneck ball is AM3225 which is what you would need.

For this adapter it would not matter if the gooseneck ball hole is round or square since the trailer is still pivoting at the top ball and not twisting the base. So it will work well with Curt gooseneck trailer hitch # C60614. I have included a link to a video showing an example installation of this hitch for you.
