Troubleshooting Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness # C56078 Installation on 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
Question:
I have installed the wiring harness in my sante fe 2010 and I am at wits end why it doesnt work. The install was quick and easy, but when I hooked it up to the trailer I found one side not working, and only a flasher working on the driver side, but not all the time. I check all the wiring in the trailer, I cleaned the flat bar connector of the trailer and still no change. I went out and bought a new set of lights for trailer thinking there might be a break or something in the lines. I re hooked up the trailer and it made no difference. I borrowed dads car and hooked it to trailer and everything worked fine. I figured it must be the converter box, I bought another wiring kit for the car and installed that, again no difference, Do you have any suggestion why its not working? I put a tester on the flat bar connecter and it shows only power going through for the driver side flasher. Any help is appreciated...

From the issues that you are describing and the troubleshooting that you have already done, it really sounds like it is a ground issue to me.
I recommend taking a piece of sandpaper and sand down the area where your ground is connected. You want bare metal to bare metal contact.
Although I am pretty certain that this is the issue, please send me an email if this doesn't correct the problem and we can go over some additional troubleshooting steps.
