Can 6-Ply Tires Be Used On Travel Trailer With 8-Ply Tires

Question:

I have a 30foot travel trailer. Had a blowout on one of the tires and replaced it with a 8 ply tire. Can I run two 8 ply tires along with two 6 ply tires and if so, which axle should the 8 ply tires be used?

Helpful Expert Reply:

You will always want to use tires that have a capacity that is best suited for your trailer.

It is always recommended to use tires that are the same size, have the same load range and construction on a trailer. If tires that are not matched, you could have problems like overheating and overloading which can lead to tire failure.

You always want to make sure you inflate the tires when cold to the maximum psi for the best performance.

I have attached a helpful article about tires and wheels you can check out.
