Determining the maximum towing capacity of a given truck without knowing exactly how the truck is equipped is pretty difficult. I've researched the issue, and found that the tow rating varies according to the rear axle ratio, and whether the vehicle is a 4x2 or 4x4.

In my research I found that at the worst case scenario, your truck should be able to tow at least 7300 lbs. I'd recommend you confirm this for yourself by checking the owner's manual or with Ford.

There's another way to determine the max trailer weight. Look for the sticker located on the driver's door jamb and find the figure for Gross Combined Weight Rating, or GCWR. From the GCWR, subtract the fully loaded weight of the vehicle (curb weight plus weight of passengers and cargo). The result would be the maximum weight of the trailer you can safely pull.

Keep in mind that towing something with a weight that's near or right at the maximum capacity of the truck can be hard on the engine, suspension and transmission. Make sure you mind the 'severe service' service intervals recommend in your owner's manual. Installing an aftermarket transmission cooler like part # D13504 is an inexpensive way to provide extra protection for your transmission. You'd also need the # D13025 fitting.

A weight distribution system like the # 49570 you mentioned would do a good job of leveling your ride height and removing any rear end sag, but it won't allow you to exceed the towing capacity of your vehicle. The # 49570 system is designed for trailers with tongue weight capacities between 700 and 1200 lbs. I've linked you to an FAQ article that shows how to determine the fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of a trailer. If the ready to tow tongue weight is below 750 lbs, use the # PS49582.
