Replacing the wiring harness on your 1976 Jayco Eagle pop up trailer should be fairly easy. If your trailer is set up with brake/turn signals, and tail lights only then I would remove the factory square 6-way wiring connector and replace it with a 4-way flat connector, item # 18004.

This connector will wire as follows the white wire should go to ground on the trailer frame, the brown wire attaches to the trailer tail light wire, the yellow wire attaches to the trailer left turn and brake wire and the green wire attaches to the trailer right turn and brake wire.

If your trailer has brakes and needs a power wire to power 12 volt accessories or maintain a trailer battery then I would use a 6-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector, item # 50-61-108, and wire the same as the connector above plus the following functions. Attach the red wire to the trailer brake wire and attach the black accessory wire to the trailer power accessory wire.

If you need a 6-way connector for the rear of the vehicle you can use the Pollak 6-Pole, Round Pin, Plastic Trailer Wiring Socket w/ Rubber Boot, item # PK12720 to make the connections at the rear of the vehicle.
