Using Yakima EXO Cargo Carrier While Towing Kayak Trailer
Question:
does the cargo carrier have an adapter that slides over a load bar that would still allow towing of a trailer while using the cargo carrier. hope this makes sense, im wanting to tow a kyak trailer , and have the cargo carrier and the trailer attached to my receiver. actually the easiest thing to do would be to bolt the carrier to the trailer tongue. whats your thoughts

The Yakima EXO Swing Away Enclosed Cargo Carrier, part # Y62VR does not have an adapter such as you describe. We offer the Curt Multi-Purpose Ball Mount, part # D210 that provides a receiver for mounting the cargo carrier along with a ball mount for towing the trailer. The Ball Mount receiver has a 350 lb tongue weight capacity, which means that the cargo carrier, its contents and the tongue weight of the trailer can weigh no more than 350 lbs.
You will want to confirm that the vehicle being used as well as the hitch has the appropriate tongue weight capacity to handle the carrier and the trailer when used at the same time. The towing capacities of the vehicle should be listed in the owner's manual, and the hitch should have a sticker or plate on it that lists its towing and tongue weight capacities.
