DeeZee # DZ43203 Tailgate on 2008 Ford F350 King Ranch
Question:
I installed a DZ 43203, TAILGATE ASSIST FORD F-150 1997-2003, SUPER-DUTY 1999-2011 The tail gate does not go down as slow and smoothly as your video demonstrates. I followed the instructions to the tee. parts were installed successfully. The tailgate s quickly and somewhat slows down approximately 4 to 5 in. before it comes to a stop.

According to DeeZee, the tailgate on your 2008 King Ranch is heavier by a few pounds than the tailgate of the 2003 F250 shown in the video. The reason your tailgate drops before the assist grabs it is this weight difference, it doesn't indicate a problem or defect with the tailgate assist itself.
