How to Determine Trailer Wire Functions When Rewiring Connector
Question:
I have a 2003 container chassi I purchased with the round pin connector removed,,the wire that runs from the rear to the front of the chassi has 8 wires instead of 7 the odd wire is green And white,,its the smallest of the bunch. Could anyone tell me where it would wire in to a 7 pin Box or should I have purchased an 8 pin box if there is such a thing.

It's pretty hard to say what the extra circuit would be since wire colors aren't always consistent among vehicles/trailers. Since you have what sounds like a trailer your best option would be to use a jumper wire from a 12 volt battery like from a car to apply voltage to all of the wires to see what activates on the trailer and then wire it accordingly to your new connector.
