Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2015 Toyota RAV4 with 4-Way

Question:

The recommended brake controller by Scamp Trailer is Tekonsha Primus IQ. On your website, fitting a 2015 Rav4 is not confirmed yet. Any more insight whether it could be installed on the Rav4? I dont think the Rav4 really needs to us electric brakes... is there a converter from a flat four prong standard to the round 7-way connector from the trailer? Only lights would operate with this... not the electric brakes.

We have what you would need to convert the 4-way of your 2015 Toyota Rav4 to a 7-way so that you can install a brake controller. The Primus IQ is a great controller, but it's not the one I would recommend unless you really like it.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.

Now all you need to do is get the correct product to install the controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.
