Do Cargo Carriers Normally Obstruct Taillights and License Plates

Question:

Hello, Im looking for a cargo carrier that can carry one or two big passengers bags people use when they travel by airplanes Travel on a highway, for around 150 miles. So i need a cargo that has lights on it in case of traveling at night or need to turn left/right using indicator signals or to let my car plate show up for police and traffic cameras - so the bags do not hide the lights or the car plate number . if the current cargo carriers are fine and you can see the break lights/indicators even if you put the bags in the cargo carrier, then i guess no need for the lighted carrier, but what about the car plate ? do the bags hide it, if yes, can we have a solution for that? thanks a lot.

The Reese Carrier # 63155 that you referenced is 47 inches wide and should sit lower than the taillights of your vehicle (most likely). Mainly due to the width of this carrier it shouldn't interfere at all with the visibility of the taillights. You can measure the distance between your taillights to be certain. This carrier should sit lower and be too narrow to cause issue with that. Also, most likely the cameras that would take a picture of your license plate would be up above and the carrier would not interfere with visibility.

It would take more cargo than two suitcases to obstruct the plates, but you could use a new bracket like the part # LP15SB and have it installed on the carrier.
