Availability of Front Mounted Hitch for 2012 Chevy Avalanche 1500 z71
Question:
I have a 2012 1500 z71 Chevy avalanche, I would like to install a front hitch to mount a personal snow plow. I am having difficulty finding a front hitch for a z71, I am not sure what the difference is between a z71- and non Z-71. Would the 31012 just require more cutting of the lower bumper on a z71? I understand the bumper is a little different, but isnt the frame the same on both but the z71 just has a little better suspension? thanks for the help

I spoke with my contact at Curt and he said the reason they do not have a front mounted hitch for the 2012 Chevy Avalanche 1500 z71 model is because the suspension is set up different with a skid plate and extra stabilizer. If you were to removed these two parts it is possible you could install the front mounted hitch # C31069, however Curt hasn't tested this hitch with the z71 model so they cannot say for certain that it will work.
Drilling is required to install this hitch. I have included a link to the installation instructions which shows you were the holes have to be drilled.
