The trailer wiring harnesses that fit your 2006 GMC Savana van, see link, plug in line with the vehicle tail light wiring located behind the trim panels in the cargo area on the driver's and passenger's sides.
I recommend going with Tow Ready harness # 118392. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
