To install a Tekonsha brake controller, such as the PowerTrac Time Delayed Brake Controller # 39523, you would want a wiring harness. The Tekonsha and Draw-Tite Brake Controller harness # 20127 is designed to work with Tekonsha brake controllers.
If you do not have a 4-way flat or a 7-way connector at the rear of your 1992 Ford F-150, you will want to install a wiring harness with a 4-way flat. I recommend the Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness # 118316. This wiring harness will plug into your vehicle's existing wiring at the rear of your vehicle.
To install the brake controller and gain a 7-way connector, you will want to use our universal installation kit # ETBC7. This kit comes with a 4-way and 7-way connector as well as other hardware needed to install the brake controller.
I have attached some installation videos on a 1990 and 1991 F-150 for you.
