How to Determine Function of Trailer Wiring Harness on 2010 Nissan Pathfinder

Question:

I have one a 118267 and a 2010 Nissan Pathfinder. It already has a four flat wired into the truck and therefore the gray connector does not fit see below from one of the forums: Since you have the factory tow package, you can use part # 118267. However some of the Pathfinders were made with different style connectors than the connector that comes with this harness. If the connectors on your vehicle do not match the gray and black connectors on this harness, you can cut the connectors off and splice the wires into the factory wiring using quick connects. Please note that you will want to splice by function, not by color. Do you have something that describes the FUNCTION of each wire so that I can properly splice? Thanks...

What you will need to do is use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the wires after you cut off the connector by function. To do this you will need to have a buddy apply the various taillight functions as you test the wires to see what wires carry which function.

The functions of the wires of the 7-way are:

Green - right turn/stop, Yellow - left turn/stop, Brown - Tail lights, White - ground, Red - reverse lights.
