Replacement Trailer Ramp Spring Recommendation

Question:

Hello : I own an Interstate Pro Series 6x10 trailer. After noticing one loose metal rope I took it to the dealer to find out that the entire Ramp Spring assembly needs to be replaced due to the main rod being bent which I found odd . . . Of course its not under warranty any longer so I thought I could do the job myself. Couple of questions: are the parts used in my trailer generic so I could buy them from you guys instead of from the dealer at a much higher cost? is that a job thats easily done DIY or does it need to be done by a shop? thank you for your reply and I wish you a good day :

We sell a torsion style ramp spring that you could replace yours with pretty easily with that's priced pretty good. Check out part # 362SW61, this would work well for your trailer and would most likely cost less than what Interstate would charge. These springs are self-adjusting and are not high torsion requiring professional installation, so you can install it yourself.

We don't sell replacement parts for this ramp spring though. Also the installation instructions for this product are recommended for individuals who have experience winding torsion springs. If you have not worked with a torsion spring system before, we recommend contacting a local garage door company to install this system.
