Brake Controller and Install Harness Recommendation for a 2010 Ford F-150
Question:
I purchased a Prodigy 3 brake controller and recieved a plug and play cable for a 2010 F150 with it. When I plugged the controller into the factory connector, the vehicle would not operate. I thought I may have to have the computer flashed but then I checked the connector provided by the factory and noticed the pin locations were different from the one provided with the controller. I spliced into the factory provided connector and the controller came on and seems to be working fine dont have a trailer to hook up right now to fully check. That would seem to indicate the pinning on the plug and play cable is incorrect. Is there a way to change the pin locations on the connector or does it need to be replaced?

The harness you should have used for installing the Prodigy P3 # 90195 that you referenced would be the # 22292. If for some reason the pin out of this connector didn't match what your has the only solution we have would be to hard wire the controller to harness you have by cutting the needed wires from the factory connector and the running them to the controller wires. We don't have info on how to repin the connector so this would be your best option.
You can check that you have the right circuit for the blue wire of the controller by using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the brake output circuit of the 7-way with the manual override lever slid on the controller. This will be the pin in the 5:00 position.
