A trained installer who has installed base plate kit # BX1136 might be able to perform the installation in as little as 2 hours. That is a generous estimation though. A novice or the vehicle owner who has not installed base plates before will probably need the better part of a day to perform a base plate installation. So a conservative estimate would be at least 4 to 6 hours depending on the level of expertise.

If your Cherokee has 4 wheel drive or the Active Drive II system, to maintain the vehicle's stable steering while being flat towed you will want to install the Mopar accessory kit 68321424AB, available from your Jeep dealer. This kit will prevent the Cherokee's steering from shaking while being flat towed.
