Can Threaded Hitch Bolt Fit Other Brands of Bike Rack and Do They Reduce Tongue Weight Capacity

Use of a hitch lock such as Tow Ready # 5200 or the Hollywood Racks # HRLHPTC will NOT reduce your hitch's tongue weight (TW) capacity. TW is generally more of a function of the host vehicle itself - its frame strength - and of the hitch.

Some bike racks use a proprietary type threaded hitch pin/lock that will work only on racks from that manufacturer. This is true for the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock set # HRLHPTC but the general-purpose lock # 5200 for Class I and Class II hitches is NOT threaded and will work with any hitch that has a 1-1/4-inch receiver tube.
