Should a Boat be Resting Up Against Bunk Boards or Should there be a Gap

how tight to the hull should the bunk boards be? In other words, should there be any gap between the bunk and the hull?

On a boat trailer you will need to position the bunks so that the boat is resting against them. there should not be a gap between the bunks and the boat. A gap would allow the boat to move around on the trailer which is something that you do not want because it can lead to damage to the boat and trailer.
