Power Wire Recommendation for a Prodigy RF Brake Controller
Question:
Ill need to install a 4-to-7-way connector on my 2008 Highlander and I understand I should run a wire to the battery to power this controller. Many of the QandAs say to use a 40 amp circuit breaker. I can do this for my main tow vehicle but may need another option when others use my small single-axle tear trailer. Can we run a lead from the 12v power plug in the rear compartment of the tow vehicle to the 4-to-7-way adapter rather than run a wire all the way up to the battery? In my Highlander I see this has a 25 amp fuse in it and I suspect the brake controller doesnt draw as much current when controlling only one axle. How much current does the Prodigy RF draw from this power line for single axle brakes installations?

I can only recommend you power the Prodigy RF part # TK94FR from the vehicle battery through a breaker like part # 9510 using 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1. If you power it through vehicle wiring circuits you would void the warranty.
I attached an install video for this controller for you to check out as well. For a 4-way to 7-way adapter you would want the part # 37185. The black wire of this adapter would be the power wire.
