Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness for 2013 Chevy Traverse with Rear A/C Unit
Question:
Hi, I need to install both a hitch and wiring on my 2013 Chevy Traverse LS AWD. I noticed that the wiring harness listed on your site that would fit my vehicle states that it will not work if the vehicle has a rear A/C unit. Ours does, do you sell one that does suit my needs? Thanks

The issue with the Traverse with the rear A/C unit is that the grommet that the wiring needs to be passed through is nearly impossible to access because the A/C unit is in the way. It can be done, but according to my Curt representative, it literally adds hours to the installation of the # C56181. According to them, you'd need to drill holes in the bulkhead in the cargo area to run the wires, which they DON'T recommend. In other words, they really don't have a solution.
The good news is that the Tow Ready # 118270 WILL work for you. It includes the necessary fuses and relays to activate the wiring tow package and will be easier to install and waaayyy less expensive. I've linked you to an install video showing this harness being installed on a 2014 Buick Enclave. The procedure for your Traverse would be identical.
