Replacement Filter Cartridge and Rubber O-Ring for Camco RV Premium Water Filter # CAM40631
Question:
Do you sell a replacement filter for the Camco water filter. I am not sure how I lost the O ring, but mine is missing and now the filter leaks.

We do sell a replacement filter cartridge for the Camco RV and Marine Premium Water Filter # CAM40631. The cartridge part number is # CAM40621.
Camco does not offer a replacement O-ring/gasket part but I think I can help you. I used to have a house water filter that looked exactly like this Camco unit and replacement gaskets were readily available in a packet of 3 or 4 sizes at my local Home Improvement store. These parts were a combination of black and blue silicone rubber O-rings in various dimensions.
My contact at Camco agreed that one of these is likely to fit just fine on your filter housing.
In my 10+ years of using that filter in my home I found that a gasket would last for about three filters changes before it began to leak. Use care to avoid over-tightening the canister once the new gasket is installed as this may shorten the gasket's useful lifespan.

I think this is a strange issue with Camco. I have also been searching for a replacement o-ring. Having to purchase some aftermarket part that doesn't fit well and you end up with multiple sizes that you have no use for, and that regularly needs replacing on these units seems a questionable decision by Camco. It would be very easy for them to offer these along with all the other cameo parts and components. I would prefer to purchase a package of 3 from them, knowing I have the right fit instead of having to perform the trial and error method. I think I'll just toss my Camco and purchase one from another manufacturer that supports normal wear replacement parts.
