Base Plates and Accessories Needed to Flat Tow 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Behind a Motorhome
Question:
I have a Road master tow bar for my motorhome what do I need to hook to my jeep- a 2004 Grand Cherokee??

For starters, you'll need a base plate assembly. I'd recommend the Roadmaster # 1425-1, and safety cables like part # RM-643.
Next, you'll need a lighting solution like magnetic mount tow lights like the Roadmaster # RM-2120. For a more permanent solution, try the Roadmaster bulb and socket kit, part # RM-155. Both these systems allow the towing lights to remain completely independent of the wiring on your Grand Cherokee. You won't need to tap into any of the vehicle wiring.
Finally, you'll need a supplemental braking system. I prefer an installed system like the Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251 because it doesn't have to removed from the Jeep after towing it. You also need a relay # RM-88400 to keep the Jeep's lights from overriding the motorhome's.
Since you have a Roadmaster tow bar, you won't need the # RM-032, which would be used with a Blue Ox tow bar and a Roadmaster base plate.
I'll link you to some FAQ articles about flat towing that you might find helpful.
