When Are Rubber Spacers Required to Install Timbren Rear Axle Suspension Kit # TGMRCK25S

Question:

I am thinking of purchasing the GMRCK25S system for my 2005 2500HD Silverado. I noticed the installation of the system on your red 2005 Silverado you did not use the 1inch spacer, but on the black 2007 Silverado you did use the spacer. Both trucks seam to have stock suspension systems. Why did one truck use the spacer and the other didnt? I have a 3000 lb Lance 845 slide in camper that I use on my truck and would like to ensure I install the Timbrens correctly.

The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TGMRCK25S is a correct fit for your 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 whether it is a 2WD or a 4WD version. This kit will install without need for the included 7/8-inch thick spacers UNLESS the truck has a suspension lift kit installed already. In this case you'd need to add spacers to make up for that difference in height between the axle and frame. If the truck is standard and has no suspension lift then the spacers will not be needed.
