Sound like you are trying to install a brake controller in your 2001 Toyota Tacoma and are looking for the stoplight circuit at the brake pedal switch. I have a way for you to determine which wire is the correct one, but we don't know what color it would be.
You would need to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test all of the wires at the switch until you find one that only has voltage when the brakes are applied and none when they are released.
