Agility Brake Controller on 2003 Dodge Ram Not Activating Trailer Brakes Unless Override is Used
Question:
I had it installed at a dealership however I did not realize till a year later that the brakes are not working. The power is on but when I apply brakes it does not work unless I do over ride. It was installed with the adapters and all plugs were ones from instruction. I keep reading about a red wire however would that not all be hooked up once plugged in?

I'd begin by ensuring that the controller has been installed level, side to side and parallel with the direction of travel and within +70 and -20 of level as shown in the instructions. Make sure the gain or power isn't set at minimum.
Use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and test the red wire exiting the rear of the controller. You should show power on that circuit when the brake pedal is pressed. If you're not, have a helper apply the brakes on the truck while you watch the third brake lamp (center high mounted stop lamp). If the third brake lamp isn't illuminating, check the CHMSL fuse located in the fuse box under the hood, and replace if needed. The lid of the fuse box will have a diagram on it listing which fuses protect which circuits. This is the most likely culprit, but I've linked you our Brake Controller Troubleshooting FAQ article. If the fuse isn't the issue, look through the article which shows other troubleshooting strategies.
If after you read the article you still haven't found the problem, please let me know.
