Can 750-lb TW Hitch on Dodge B1500 Conversion Handle TW of R-Wagon Toy Hauler

Question:

My hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight of 7,500 and 750 maximum tongue weight with weight distribution. I would like to find out what the R-Vision R-Wagon model RW-251 dry tongue weight is from the manufacturer.

I was able to find some information about an R-Vision R-Wagon model RW-291 toy hauler trailer, but not for the model RW-251 that you referenced.

A 2008 model year RW-291 toy hauler has a dry hitch weight (tongue weight) of 597-lbs and a total dry weight of 5227-lbs. TW can be measured in several ways as noted in the linked article, and one method is the etrailer scale # e99044.

Since I do not know the model year of your trailer nor of your Dodge B1500 conversion van you should consult the owner's manuals for these two vehicles to confirm the specific weight and tongue weight capacity of both before towing the trailer with the vehicle. These can vary across different model years and based on options. The trailer should have a placard or plate somewhere on it that gives the specs for that particular unit.

Also note that just because the hitch has a 750-lb TW rating that does not necessarily mean the vehicle itself shares that same rating. Check the owner's manual for the vehicle's own TW capacity which may be less than the hitch's.

A toy hauler with a dry tongue weight of about 600-lbs is likely to exceed a 750-lb hitch tongue weight limit once loaded with the motorcycles (or 4-wheelers), water and other essential supplies.
