Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector and Brake Controller to a 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser
Question:
I have a 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser with a 4-pin connector and I have been asked to tow a electronic brake equipped 8.5foot x 20foot enclosed trailer for family member. I realize, in its current setup, that I cannot tow a trailer with electric brakes. What do I need to get for my truck so that I am properly and safely equipped to pull the trailer. Have not been able to clearly find this information online. Thank you for your time and effort.

You will need to have a 7-Way trailer connector and a brake controller installed on your 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser. To do this you will need installation kit # ETBC7 and a brake controller. I recommend the P2 # 90885 because it is easy to set up and use and it is reliable.
I have included some links that show and explain the ETBC7 and brake controller installation for you.
